Operations at the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum are currently suspended due to the ongoing conflict that began in April 2023. The U.S. mission for Sudan is now operating out of other locations. The primary focus is on achieving a ceasefire, facilitating humanitarian access, and supporting a return to a civilian-led government. The U.S. remains the largest donor of humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people.

Services Consulaires

The embassy is not providing consular services in Sudan. U.S. citizens in Sudan have been advised to shelter in place and were assisted in departing the country during an evacuation operation. The embassy's ability to provide assistance is extremely limited.
